We manufacture a couple of traditional paints that are sold as a powder.

Boncote and Milk Paint. Both of these heritage paints are mixed with water,

then allowed to "rest" for a few minutes before they're brush applied.

Boncote is ideal for exterior masonry, and Milk Paint is generally used as a furniture paint.

So, once you've mixed your paint, take five minutes and enjoy the break.

Why not have a cup of tea, and enjoy the sunshine?

While you're doing this the paint you've just mixed will thicken slightly,

making it easier and simpler to achieve that perfect, soft and natural finish.

A painter in Melbourne sent me this photo.

He bought this original can of Boncote at an auction.

That makes this particular can about a hundred years old,

so I don't recommend using the ingredients.

As a rule, because Boncote (and Milk Paint too)

contains lime I wouldn't keep it for more than a couple of years.
