About a hundred and fifty kilometres south of Sydney is a village called Berry.
Located near green hills and farms and an enormous beach, this popular place is filled with history and heritage buildings.

베리는 시드니에서 남쪽으로 약 150km 떨어진 곳에 위치한 도시 이름입니다.
거대한 해변 근처에 푸른 언덕과 농장으로 구성되어 있고 역사와 전통적이 건물로 인기가 많은 도시죠.
This used to be the English, Scottish and Australian Chattered Bank and its distinct stepped facade and coloured bricks caught my attention. This unusual looking building was created by William Wardell and is the last existing example of a series of banks he designed in the nineteenth century.
이 도시에 자랑거리중 하나인 박물관은(Berry Museum)은 윌리엄 워델에 의해서 건축되었고 Chattered Bank일때가 있었습니다. 현재는 19세기의 디자인을 반영한 건물이죠.
이 건물의 특징은 뚜렷한 건물이죠. 하지만 제 관심을 끈 것은 디자인과 붉은컬러를 베이스로한 벽돌들의 컬러였습니다.
Now used as a museum, this old bank is generally in original condition and has some really interesting features like this decorative plaster dado that flows through the various rooms...
현재는 박물관으로 이용되고 있는 이 건물은 원래의 상태를 잘 유지하고 있었습니다. 또한 각 방마다 다양한 장식된 석고 다도는 흥미로운 특징을 잘 나타내고 있었습니다.
...and beautiful fireplaces surrounded by worn timber floors...
그리고 시간이 스며든 목재 바닥과 사용흔적으로 빈티지하게 보이는 벽난로도 19세기의 분위기도 느낄 수 있었습니다.
...and the whole interior has been repainted in authentic colours with modern paints. To do this the existing paint was sanded and an archaelogical paint history was revealed. From this process original colours were revisited and translated into the new top coats.
It is relatively easy to recreate these sorts of pallettes with the Porter's Paints tinting system:
the green that has been approved by the National Trust could be achieved in a Deep Base acrylic using K, PL and pobably a little C. Or, try D, L, C and B. Personally, I try to avoid using B black to dirty colours. I find it's a tint that muddies the colour too much, and you lose the integrity and depth of the final hue. My preference is the softer and more interesting PL but it's up to you. There are several ways to reach the same destination through a different journey.

19세기의 건물이지만 내부 전체는 최신 페인트로 다시 칠했습니다. 페인트를 다시 칠하기 위해 기존의 페인트를 샌딩을 해야했는데요, 샌딩하기 전 기존에 칠해진 페인트에 대한 정보를 얻을 수 있었습니다.
이 과정에서 원래 컬러를 보존하기 위해서 새로운 탑코드에 대한 해석이 필요했습니다.
포터스 페인트 시스템을 사용하면 비교적 쉽게 컬러팔레트의 만들 수 있가 있습니다. Nation Trusts 는 K, PL와 아마도 약간의 C를 사용하는 딥베이스를 사용하고 있습니다.
아니면 D, L, C, B를 사용을 시도해도 좋습니다.
개인적으로는 탁하게 만드는 B Black 사용을 피하려고 노력하고 있습니다.
너무 많은 컬러는 오히려 색상(Tone)을 흐리게 하고, 최종 컬러의 깊이와 색조를 잃어버리게 됩니다.
제가 선호하는 베이스는 부드럽고 재미있는 PL이지만, 모든 선택은 컬러를 만들어가는 당신의 선택에 따라 달라집니다.
컬러는 여러가지 방법으로 다른 결과를 통해 같은 목적지에 도착할 수 있다는 것을 알아 주셨으면 합니다.
