We had guests at our Mascot showroom. Lots and lots of guests who had travelled all the way from
South Korea to learn everything about Porter's Paints!
Clare and I had put a couple of classes together and we presented our decades of art and paint experience to the
excited travellers who sat crammed around the enormous timber training table.

Clare talked about the many different paint types and demonstrated how to balance composition with colours,
finishes and Porter's Paints products on to a handmade mood board.

The training table was piled high with wallpapers, paint swatches, fabrics, magazines, glue, ribbons,
string and coloured papers. Everyone dived in and soon the most amazing compositions were created by designing,
cutting and pasting on to individual mood boards. Video cameras filmed the whole time, capturing the unique and special
moments from every possible angle. The final results were amazing and we were all impressed by
the very talented designers and colour consultants.

My class was about tinting and how to create custom colours by combining our unusual pallette of handmade tints.
To demonstrate I borrowed a brightly coloured diary from one of the guests and copied the intense hue on the cover.
I showed how simple it was to create a formula which would display paint colour full of depth and interest.
The day was a heap of fun and evryone had a great time. It was an absolute pleasure to teach
a group of students who were so earger to learn!
